Sew Happy Quilters make dresses for children in Africa

Posted: Wednesday, July 25, 2012 2:13 pm

Sew Happy Quilters, who meet at Luther Park Bible Camp, decided to sew for Dress a Girl Around the World. The pattern originally started from a pillowcase, and the sewers decided to make 100 dresses from material, elastic and bias tape. Dresses will be delivered to a packing station located at the Thrift Store in Rice Lake and they will send them to Africa. Pictured are (front) Alexis Clark; (from left) Jennifer Solberg, Shari Thraen, Diana Thompson, Mary Bates, Kathy DeCosse, Candi Hodgson, Rhonda Candler and Brenda Johnson. Missing from the picture are Joan Buchli, Jean Harriman, Jan Feigh and Darla Crites.
