Edward “Bubs” Harold Lemar, 94, of Chetek, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 19, 2012, at his home in Chetek surrounded by his wife, three daughters and family.

Edward was born in Chicago, Ill., to Gustav Lemar and Alma Bruschke Lemar. He joined the CCC in 1938 and was stationed in Michigan and Oregon. He then served in the U.S. Army from 1940-1944 in the South Pacific. He married Genevieve Braeckeveldt on Sept. 9, 1944, in Chicago.

After retirement from the Marland Oil Company, Des Plaines, Ill., Edward and Genevieve moved to Chetek. Ed was the maintenance man at Silver Coin Laundry for 19 years.

He is survived by his wife, Genevieve; one son; and three daughters, Donna (John) Krebsbach, Milan, Ill., Dawn Lemar (Nathan Weinhold), of Chetek, and Deedra (Ron) Pavick, of Chetek; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren (with two on the way); one sister; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Cremation rights were accorded, and private services will be held at a later date.

Thank you to Lakeview Hospice for their excellent care shown “Bubs,” and a very special thank you to his nurse, Sheila, his special angel.
