Peggy Ann Fransen, 75, of Chetek, passed away at her home Tuesday, June 26, 2012.
She was born in rural Cameron on Aug. 3, 1936, the daughter of Roy and Eva (Hollister) Strand.
Peggy married her first husband, Ronald Rathke, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cameron. She married her second husband, Donald Fransen Sr., and lived in Illinois for 15 years before moving to Chetek. Peggy worked at the Convenience Store in Chetek for 25 years.
Peggy leaves to celebrate her memory one son, James (Susan) Rathke, of Cameron; one granddaughter, Kathleen Kreier, of Amery; one great-granddaughter, Shelby Hegna, of Eau Claire; two nephews, Doug (Ann) Novak, of Ladysmith, and Brad (Jackie) Novak, of Cumberland; one niece, Jeanne (Leonard) Hess, of Ladysmith; two cousins, Carol Mae (Arnold “Skip”) Widdes, of Rice Lake, and Jack (Sheila) Running, of Eau Claire; and many other loving family and friends.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; son, Donald Fransen Jr.; and two sisters, Betty Novak and Dorothy Aspenes.
A memorial service was held Monday, July 2, at Burnham-Ours Funeral Home in Chetek, with Brad Novak officiating. Peggy was laid to rest next to her son, Donald Fransen Jr., at Faaberg Cemetery in Stanley Township, Barron County.
