Christopher J. Bjorkstrand, 35, of New Auburn, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Bloomer Hospital.
Chris was born March 3, 1978, to Bruce and Shirley (Ferrell) Bjorkstrand. He graduated from New Auburn High School in 1996. He married Belinda Sweeney on Dec. 2, 2006, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Bloomer. He was the owner/operator of Bjorkstrand Roofing.
He is survived by his wife, Belinda Bjorkstrand, of New Auburn; two daughters, Nevaeh and Peyton Bjorkstrand, both of New Auburn; parents, Bruce and Shirley Bjorkstrand, of New Auburn; one brother, Cory (Deb) Bjorkstrand, of Eagin, Minn.; two sisters, Shelley Bjorkstrand, of Roseville, Mich., and Nicole (Juan) Luna, of Raleigh, N.C.; mother-in-law, Carol (Harold) Gale, of New Auburn; and paternal grandparents, Carl (Joan) Bjorkstrand, of Richfield, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Jeannette Ferrell; great-grandmother, Theresa Midderigh; father-in-law, James Sweeney; and brothers-in-law, Corrie and Joshua Sweeney.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 14, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Bloomer, with Father John Potaczek officiating. Burial will be at Rufledt Cemetery, Bloomer.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, at the Schriver Funeral Chapel, Bloomer, and one hour before the Mass on Thursday. There will be a 7:30 p.m. Christian wake service at the funeral chapel on Wednesday.
