Bertha (Kitelinger) Hoesly, 91, of Chetek, died after a brief illness Monday, Aug. 13, 2012.

She was born Jan. 14, 1921, in Jackson County, one of 10 children to Martin and Louisa (Yoss) Kitelinger. Bertha was united in marriage to Harold Peter Hoesly on Feb. 21, 1941, in Janesville.

For many years Bertha worked at the Parker Pen Company in Janesville. She enjoyed weekends, and later, retirement in Northern Wisconsin at Hoesly’s Hideaway in Chetek while Lake Placid, Fla., was the hideaway from snow in winter. She canned, knitted and was a hard-to-beat euchre and cribbage player.

Bertha is survived by one daughter, Patricia Klatt, and one son, Gerald (Helen) Hoesly, both of Chetek; three grandchildren, Kristina Zengaffinen, of Chetek, Shiloh (Mark) Cabanowski, of Boca Raton, Fla., and Jeremy (Amy) Hoesly, of Glidden; three great-grandchildren, Cyan Zengaffinen and Taylor Hoesly, of Chetek, and Scott Powers, of Glidden; and two siblings, Jane Allen, of Arkansas, and Curtis Kitelinger, of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Allen, Dale and Linton Kitelinger; four sisters, Clara Jordan, Margaret Gifford, Alice Mackie and Marcia Flood.

Services will be held in Janesville at Milton Lawns Memorial Park on Saturday, Aug. 25, at 11 a.m. in the chapel and will be followed by a get-together of friends and relatives at My Apartment.

In lieu of flowers, please remember a loved one.

The Burnham-Ours Funeral Home of Chetek has been entrusted with arrangements.
