6:02 a.m. Cameron caller says a neighbor has loud music on all the time. She has contacted the landlord. She is concerned a small child is not getting any sleep. 6:14 a.m., deputy spoke with a resident. Everything is okay. There was no music at the time.

8:21 a.m. Caller says an employee said she was suicidal. She has not been heard from since. 8:33 a.m., officer is talking to the woman. 8:41 a.m., everything is okay. A family member is en route.

9:19 a.m. Chetek repair shop says a catalytic converter was missing from a car he was working on. It may have been taken sometime between Friday night and Saturday evening.

3:14 p.m. Driver on Hwy. 53 near Chetek says a construction supply company trailer had lost some items off the back. An item broke his sunroof and there is glass in the car and in his young child’s hair. They are pulled over in the rest area. 3:50 p.m., info was exchanged. Company will pay for the window.

3:27 p.m. Rural Cameron woman says someone has been moving the belongings outside of her house.

4:39 p.m. Caller says a couple of boat lifts were pushed out by the ice and have sunk in 8 feet of water on Lake Chetek. Conservation officer advised.

5:20 p.m. Woman in Cameron says she is being told to leave, but there is a man who is telling her she can’t leave and grabbed her shirt. 5:54 p.m., woman in custody for a probation warrant. 6:43 p.m., jail will not take the woman at this time. En route to Benjamin’s House.

5:33 p.m. Caller on CTH M south of Hwy. 8 says a car went into a fence. No injury. 5:51 p.m., driver has low blood sugar. 6:33 p.m., en route back to the residence.

6:38 p.m. 911 call. Woman in Cameron says a man bit someone. Woman hung up. 6:48 p.m., called the woman back. She said a man and woman were arguing but it was not physical. They are not fighting now. Officers are not needed. Woman said she did not call 911 and it may have been the other woman. She will call back if there are any problems.

7:30 p.m. Chetek man says a woman has been texting him and sending him sexual messages. He has blocked her and attempted a restraining order but she will not stop. 8:33 p.m., man was advised on restraining orders.

Tuesday, March 30

8:23 a.m. Chetek officer out for three truancy violations at the school. Grass fire in the 1300 block of 24–1/2 Avenue. Chetek Fire paged. 9:47 a.m., fire is out.

3 p.m. Chetek officer out for eight truancy violations at the school.

4:40 p.m. Rural Cameron caller says his neighbor was driving on his property. When confronted, the neighbor got mad and threatened to beat the caller up. 5:48 p.m., deputy spoke with both. The man was told to contact the DNR if he had a problem with the neighbor building a dock on the bog.

6:31 p.m. Chetek woman says a two-year-old fell out of a high chair and is bleeding from the mouth. 6:47 p.m., they will go to the hospital via private vehicle.

8:01 p.m. Sheriff requests the Emergency Response Team go to Rusk County for a search warrant.

Wednesday, March 31

5:32 a.m. Medical alert company says a man yelled for help and EMS. 5:44 p.m., deputy says there is a subject who is not breathing and does not have a pulse. 7:17 p.m., family notification will be made.

6:43 a.m. 911 call in Chetek. Man is yelling he does not know where he is at and that someone is hitting him with a baseball bat. 6:53 a.m., officer is out at a residence. 7:05 a.m., officer says it was a man but it is not known where he is. They cannot get a statement out of another man.

9:05 a.m. Chetek woman says a door-to-door vacuum salesman visited yesterday. He was very insistent on coming into her house. Logged for info. She will call back if she sees the man.

12:32 p.m. A grass fire is in the median on Hwy. 53 south of Chetek. Chetek Fire paged. 12:45 p.m., New Auburn Fire paged. 1:08 p.m., traffic will be stopped at the New Auburn and Chetek exits. 1:35 p.m., fire is under control.

2:12 p.m. Chimney fire reported in rural Cameron. Cameron Fire was paged.

4:44 p.m. Rural Chetek man says a neighbor is flying a drone above his property and he thinks they are observing him. They have called about him shooting off guns in the past. 4:59 p.m., man was advised to film it when it is in his yard.

6:57 p.m. Chetek landlord says there is a person in an apartment who is not on a lease. Another caller said they tried to kick the person out but got into an argument. Officer says the person is just visiting.

Thursday, April 1

2:38 a.m. Rusk County says a man assaulted multiple people and made suicidal comments. He has been drinking and left in a car. He may be in Barron County. A ping on the phone showed the man was in Chetek. The man may be armed. 4:42 a.m., officer says a car is at a residence in Chetek. 5:29 a.m., out with the man. He is in custody. 5:35 a.m., Rusk County has the man in custody.

3:19 p.m. Deputy has a log entry for an internet crimes against children case.

3:25 p.m. Chetek caller says she got a phone call from someone claiming to be from Chippewa County and they requested info about her nephew. She did not give out her personal info but gave out her nephew’s number. Chippewa County said the caller was not with them. Logged for info.

5:10 p.m. Cameron man was served a restraining order.

6:56 p.m. Chetek caller says there is a cigarette butt container that is on fire in front of a Chetek restaurant. The building is not in danger of catching fire. 7:03 p.m., officer says the fire department is not needed. Fire is out.

8:10 p.m. Chetek caller wanted info about returning some property to some people. He was advised to drop it off at the Chetek Police Department.

8:43 p.m. Caller requests a welfare check on her brother-in-law. He drinks and has lost his family and business. He called saying “goodbye” and other statements. He does not have guns. 9:59 p.m., man is intoxicated. No safety plan is in place but a report will be sent in to a social worker.

Friday, April 2

1:49 a.m. Rusk County requests a death notification in New Auburn. A man died in an ATV crash.

2:32 a.m. OWI traffic stop in Cameron. 2:44 a.m., driver in custody for OWI. 4:07 a.m., subject was released to a responsible party after a blood draw.

10:02 a.m. EMS paged to Cameron for a woman with back pain who fell yesterday.

2:02 p.m. Deputy has a suspicious man near CTH SS and CTH A. 2:15 p.m., man was advised to go home or he would go to jail.

4:56 p.m. Chetek motel says they can smell marijuana coming from two rooms. 6:02 p.m., woman was cited
