Felonies

Brent J. Johnvin, 25, Birchwood and formerly of Rice Lake, was charged July 8 with four counts of forgery-writings or objects and misdemeanors theft-movable property ($2,500 or less) and resisting or obstructing an officer [July 5] and a signature bond was set at $5,000 with conditions to have no contact with one subject.

David J. Apfel, 40, Chetek, pleaded guilty July 2 to possession of methamphetamine [Nov. 27, 2018] and was ordered to 1.5 years in state prison-imposed and stayed, two years of extended supervision-imposed and stayed and two years of probation-sentence imposed with conditions of costs of $518, must keep a fulltime job, must remain absolutely sober and have no contact with known drug dealers or drug users, must apply to drug court and undergo any recommended treatments.

Ahmed A. Khalaf, 23, Barron, had a charge of third-degree sexual assault [Nov. 18, 2018] dismissed on July 9.

Eric J. Robinson, 39, Kenosha, pleaded guilty July 1 to child enticement-sexual contact and attempted second-degree sexual assault of child [May 26, 2018] and was ordered to three years in state prison and five years of extended supervision with conditions of costs of $1,036, must register for life as a sex offender, must undergo any recommended treatments and alcohol assessment. A charge of use a computer to facilitate a child sex crime [May 26, 2018] was dismissed but read in.

Joseph M. Marks, 32, La Crosse, was found guilty at jury trial on May 7 of sex offender-fail to update information and fail to maintain sex offender registry [Nov. 28, 2017] and was ordered July 3 to three years of probation-sentence withheld with conditions of costs of $1,344.76, must remain employed, must remain absolutely sober and take medications in the amounts prescribed to him and must undergo any recommended treatments.

Misdemeanors

Noah E. Overly, 38, Chetek, was charged July 5 with bail jumping-misdemeanor [July 4] and a signature bond was set at $1,000 with conditions to avoid alcohol and anywhere it is sold and must submit daily PBTs at the Chetek Police Department.

Eric L. Hafner, 34, Chetek, was charged July 5 with violate a harassment restraining order and bail jumping-misdemeanor [July 4] and a cash bond was set at $150 with conditions to have no contact with one person.

Brett A. Morneau, 24, Chetek, Chetek, was charged with 10 counts of bail jumping-misdemeanor [July 3] and a cash bond was set at $500 with conditions to avoid alcohol and places it is sold and submit twice daily PBTs at the Chetek Police Department.

Antonio Trinidad III, 32, Chetek, was charged July 5 with disorderly conduct (domestic abuse) and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia [July 3] and a signature bond was set at $1,000 with condition to have no contact with one subject except for one time with law enforcement to collect personal belongings.

Jackie R. Evitch, 31, Ladysmith, was charged July 8 with OWI (second) and resisting or obstructing an officer [July 7] and a cash bond was set at $100 with conditions to avoid alcohol and anywhere it is sold and to not drive without a valid driver’s license.

Benjamin J. Paul, 24, Rice Lake, pleaded guilty March 5 to an amended charge of theft-movable property ($2,500 or less) [Oct. 26, 2018] and was ordered June 28 to pay costs of $453.

Michael A. Townsend, 26, Cameron, had a charge of bail jumping-misdemeanor [Feb. 9] dismissed but read in on June 28.

Joseph C. Weiland, 28, Chetek, had charges of criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct (domestic abuse) [Jan. 7] dismissed after a deferred prosecution or sentence agreement was fulfilled on June 27.

Jennifer A. Bayliss, 38, Dallas, had a charge of disorderly conduct (domestic abuse) [Dec. 31, 2018] dismissed after a deferred prosecution or sentence agreement was fulfilled on June 27.

James M. Hrbacek, 34, Chetek, had a charge of possession of cocaine/coca [March 18, 2018] dismissed on June 27 after a deferred prosecution or sentence was fulfilled.

Criminal and Traffic Report

Michael A. Townsend, 26, Cameron, OWI (third) [Dec. 5, 2018], $3,264, local jail, license revoked 30 months, ignition interlock, alcohol assessment and other sentence.

Ryan R. Gardner, 38, Cameron, OWI (first) [Nov. 18, 2018], $811.50, license revoked six months and alcohol assessment.

Gideon L. Hansen, 24, Cameron, inattentive driving [May 27], $187.90.

Jordan T. Stephens, 21, Rice Lake, OWI (first) [April 6], $874.50, license revoked seven months and alcohol assessment.
