Tuesday, Feb. 4
11:09 a.m. Cameron woman says a man told her he is going to her house to take his stuff. She does not want him there. 11:36 a.m., deputy spoke to the parties and told them to work it out as adults. Man said he did not want his stuff to be sold. Woman was told she cannot prevent the man from getting his belongings.
2:18 p.m. Cameron school says a student took off without permission. 2:28 p.m., officer has the juvenile and is bringing them back to the school.
2:24 p.m. Cameron woman says a man is keeping a child from her whom they share custody of. She was just served papers for full custody. She does not know where her child is. Man was called and he is in Cameron and the child is fine. 2:39 p.m., woman said she went to get her child but the man pushed her out. 3:56 p.m., officer says the issue has been resolved for the evening.
8:05 p.m. Chetek woman says her husband came home from work to check on her and two men nearly ran him over. Caller said it is over money owed and they have made threats toward him in the past. 8:24 p.m., officer will get a statement from the man later.
8:18 p.m. Cameron woman says a man is coming over to take some property he has ownership of. She does not want the man to show up and cause a scene. 9:15 p.m., man will not take his property tonight.
10:14 p.m. Chetek woman says her son texted her saying he was going to kill himself. He is at another residence and there is someone else with him. 10:25 p.m., son was not at the address. Phone will be pinged. 11:04 p.m., officers checking addresses. 11:30 p.m., son texted the mother saying he would be home soon. 1:56 a.m., a safety plan was set up for the son.
Wednesday, Feb. 5
8:28 a.m. Chetek EMS paged by Chippewa County for a woman with stomach pain. New Auburn first responders paged. 8:58 a.m., en route to Eau Claire.
6:07 p.m. Dallas caller says he got a call from a number claiming to be the police. They asked him “if she gave him permission to hit her.” Caller wants to know if it was a legitimate call. It likely was not and he was advised to be careful of who he talks to on the phone.
8:59 p.m. Caller says a small child was crying inside of a van at a gas station. A woman came out and was smoking near it. 9:02 p.m., officer is looking for the van. 9:18 p.m., Rice Lake officer made contact. The child is fine.
9:17 p.m. Chetek woman says three people showed up and she wants them to leave. 10:16 p.m., deputy is looking for a subject with a warrant. 10:34 p.m., deputy has a woman in custody on a Chippewa County warrant. 10:42 p.m., en route to jail.
Thursday, Feb. 6
11:07 a.m. Rural Chetek caller says a girl was a runaway. She was seen last Tuesday at a store for an interview. Her mother said she did not come home and it is not the first time. The girl emailed her teachers saying she would not finish school and may go to Florida. 12:57 p.m., girl is at address. 1:03 p.m., en route to the mother’s address.
12:42 p.m. Cameron officer is at the school for an out-of-control student. 12:51 p.m., student was resisting staff. Officer has the student in custody. 1:55 p.m., student was released and is not allowed back on school property.
3:11 p.m. Cameron caller says there is a couple with possible carbon monoxide symptoms in the residence. Cameron Fire paged. 3:39 p.m., there is natural gas inside the residence. Utility was advised.
9:58 p.m. Traffic stop behind the Cameron post office. Warrant is valid. 10:11 p.m., unable to post bond. En route to the jail.
Friday, Feb. 7
2:15 p.m. Cameron officer is out with a man who has a warrant. He is at a Cameron restaurant. 2:23 p.m., man is in custody. 2:43 p.m., caller says the man made some suicidal comments. 3:15 p.m., man will be taken to the jail.
3 p.m. Rural Chetek man says the front door to his cabin was open and someone had slept in one of the beds. A sliding door and window were unlocked. Nothing is missing. He was last there on Sunday.
Saturday, Feb. 8
7:40 p.m. Jail says a man on a work release was getting a ride back to the jail from his work site when he jumped out of the vehicle in Cameron. The driver did not chase him. The man left on foot. 8:37 p.m., warrant has been issued for the man.
8:48 p.m. Chetek bar says the inmate who walked away from his job was in their establishment this evening. They kicked him out and took two knives from the man. An officer has the knives. The man left for a gas station, saying he was trying to go to Eau Claire. 9:24 p.m., sheriff says the man got a ride from a Chetek gas station about an hour ago. 9:57 p.m., man was dropped off at a Burger King in Eau Claire. He had a Greyhound bus ticket. 10:47 p.m., Eau Claire officer has the man in custody. He is at the jail. A deputy will retrieve him.
10:31 p.m. Traffic stop in Cameron. Officer requests a second squad. 10:34 p.m., one is at gun point. 10:36 p.m., subject is in custody. 10:54 p.m., en route to Barron for a blood draw. Subject is not being cooperative, 11:10 p.m., wrecker has the car.
Sunday, Feb. 9
2:23 a.m. Man was at a Chetek bar when he said some words to some people outside and they came after him. Another man tackled one so they would not touch him. The people left. The caller dialed 911 to scare them off. 3:10 a.m., deputy spoke to the men and neither want to file a report.
Monday, Feb. 10
11:27 a.m. Cameron woman says she is in a barn and does not know what to do. Her husband is divorcing her and her son is writing checks off her account. Man called and said he was concerned the woman was suicidal. Woman says she does not plan to hurt herself. 12:06 p.m., son has a warrant. 12:41 p.m., crisis worker says the woman is fine to stay at home.
1:54 p.m. Search warrant in rural Chetek. 3:21 p.m., en route to the Weyerhaeuser Post Office. 3:36 p.m., wrecker will tow a vehicle. 3:50 p.m., out at Rusk County address.
4:21 p.m. Dallas caller says their 16-year-old son is threatening to move out and take his gun with him. 5:32 p.m., deputy says everything is fine right now.
4:28 p.m. Chetek officer says a man recently fired from a Chetek restaurant made a drawing of a gun and a knife and some people he wanted to harm. 5:36 p.m., officer spoke with one of the parents.
10:36 p.m. Dallas man says a woman took his false teeth. Woman called and said the man was beating on her door, wanting his teeth and a coffee cup back. She said he might be intoxicated. Man left in vehicle and kept calling 911, talking about several different stories.
11:14 p.m. Man in Cameron is bleeding from his throat. Caller said the man cut his throat with a knife. She got the knife away from him and he is on the floor. EMS and police are responding. 11:28 p.m., helicopter can fly. 11:44 p.m., helicopter is landing at the high school. 1:32 a.m., Cameron officer says the hospital is doing surgery. Crisis worker will be contacted and officers will follow up with the hospital tomorrow.
