A Chetek man is wanted in Wisconsin and adjoining states after failing to show up for a sentencing hearing on Nov. 21 in Barron County Circuit Court.

A jury trial remains on schedule Wednesday, Dec. 4, for defendant Jon W. Kent, 35, in connection with multiple charges of methamphetamine possession, maintaining a drug trafficking place, retail theft, misdemeanor disorderly conduct and half a dozen traffic-related charges, court records said.

Kent was one of six defendants charged with drug-related crimes after law officers from Chetek and Turtle Lake executed a search warrant at a Chetek motel in June 2018 as part of an investigation of “drug activity occurring at that location over several months,” according to the complaint.

The defendant was the first person detained in the raid. Marijuana, methamphetamine, smoking devices and drug paraphernalia were found on the premises.

Court records indicate the defendant was charged with meth possession, retail theft and disorderly conduct during 2019 as well.
