1:15 a.m. EMS paged to New Auburn for a woman with chest pain.

11:28 a.m. Chetek EMS paged to a Chetek nursing home for a woman with leg numbness.

12:02 p.m. EMS requested at a Chetek motel for a person who is out of control. Officer is there. Barron ambulance paged. 12:13 p.m., the person is alert but is heavily under the influence. 1:04 p.m., man was turned over to another man.

1:49 p.m. Caller says some checks were stolen from Dovre Town Hall. The Shakopee, Minn., Police Department found them. She asked if she could get the checks back and they said no. 4:11 p.m., deputy is at the town hall.

2:03 p.m. Deputy is en route to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office to get some evidence reference a Chetek-area death investigation.

2:18 p.m. Chetek officer en route to the school. A student was making self-harm comments and causing self-harm. Safety plan was set up.

2:58 p.m. Man says he parked his vehicle at his brother’s house in Chetek for a couple of hours. He came back and his windows are smashed in. He believes it was a woman who allegedly texted her friends admitting it. Deputy is responding. Man has a warrant out of Chippewa County. 3:33 p.m., man is in custody. Chippewa County will meet the deputy in New Auburn to take him into custody. 3:49 p.m., en route to New Auburn. An officer will handle the damage case once the man is out of jail. 4:10 p.m., Chippewa County has the man.

6:16 p.m. Cameron man says he lent a car trailer to a man and it was left behind at a Cameron business. He went to retrieve it and it is gone. Officer will call the man.

7:31 p.m. Traffic stop in rural Chetek. 7:41 p.m., grandparents are en route to pick up the vehicle.

11:09 p.m. Deputy’s squad car struck a deer near Cameron. Airbags went off. Deputy is not injured. 11:15 p.m., wrecker en route.

Tuesday, Feb. 2

9:19 a.m. Man says some locks on a gate were cut on a property he has near Dallas. 9:57 a.m., it appears someone was there but it may have been awhile. Nothing of value was there. Logged for info.

12:58 p.m. Officer out for a truancy case in Chetek.

4:24 p.m. Cameron man says he has not been able to get a hold of his wife for a few days and she did not show up for a court date. 4:45 p.m., deputy made contact with a woman. She said she was having phone problems and was sleeping.

Wednesday, Feb. 3

10:14 a.m. EMS paged to Chetek. Cardiac arrest. CPR is in progress. 10:30 a.m., medical examiner paged. 10:56 a.m., funeral home was contacted.

1:56 p.m. Rural Chetek man says his ex-girlfriend has been abusing their son. He has burn marks from cigarettes. Man does not want the child to be interviewed. 3:29 p.m., deputy spoke with the man. 5:02 p.m., deputy out with subject.

2:06 p.m. Chetek man says he is being accused of taking out a loan. He would like to speak to an officer.

3:22 p.m. EMS paged to Cameron for a man having a seizure. He is an alcoholic but did not drink today.

3:29 p.m. Welfare check in Cameron.

3:46 p.m. Shed is on fire in rural Chetek/New Auburn area. It is close to the house but not affecting it. A man in a wheelchair is in the house. Chetek Fire paged. 4:37 p.m., Chetek Fire is back in service.

4:46 p.m. Cameron woman says her furnace has quit working and it is getting cold in the house. They can borrow space heaters from the sheriff’s department. 6:15 p.m., two space heaters were checked out. Information was sent to economic support social workers.

7:05 p.m. Chetek officer got a call about a homeless woman on a bike. She is riding to Rice Lake and has a light on her bike.

11:36 p.m. Traffic stop in Chetek. Another officer and a wrecker were requested. 12:28 a.m., vehicle will be taken to the Chetek Police Department. Subjects will remove items from the side of the road.

Thursday, Feb. 4

9:16 a.m. Caller requests a welfare check on a Chetek man. His caretaker is in jail. 10:30 a.m., man says people are stopping by to check on him. Everything is fine.

9:44 a.m. Car went into the median on Hwy. 53 near Chetek. Chetek Fire, EMS and deputy advised. 9:56 a.m., no injury. Wrecker requested. 11:09 a.m., at rest area. Doing a drug investigation with the driver. 11:28 a.m., driver was cited for drug paraphernalia and THC possession.

1:16 p.m. Man said his tax check was stolen from Dovre Town Hall.

1:44 p.m. Chetek officer responding to a crash at a Chetek business.

6:19 p.m. Crash near Cameron. Airbags deployed. Subject has chest pain.

8:26 p.m. EMS paged to a Chetek nursing home for a woman with pain and a changed status.

9:36 p.m. Vehicle in the ditch on Hwy. 53 near Chetek. Ambulance says the driver was irate and wanted them to leave. 10:06 p.m., deputy requested another squad car respond. 10:12 p.m., man in custody. 10:28 p.m., wrecker is en route. Vehicle was stolen from Dunn County. 10:41 p.m., owner was notified. She wanted the vehicle back tonight. Menomonie Police Department requests the vehicle be impounded. 11:05 p.m., deputy spoke to the woman. She wanted her vehicle back and said she would be suing and would be showing up at the dispatch center. It will be impounded as that what the other department requested. 11:28 p.m., man was cited and released. 11:46 p.m., wrecker has dropped off the vehicle and will send over a bill.

Friday, Feb. 5

11:44 a.m. Chetek caller says someone used his boat landing to get onto the lake. They lost control and hit his shed. The driver said they would come back and remove it. The truck is still there and the shed is damaged. 12:02 p.m., deputy spoke to the owner and the driver. Minor damage. They will take care of it themselves.

12:58 p.m. Gas line leak to a kiln in rural Cameron. Handle is frozen. It is outside. Cameron Fire paged. Utility company was notified. 1:26 p.m., gas was shut off.

2:21 p.m. New Auburn school says a student was lighting a pipe in the parking lot. 2:39 p.m., deputy will handle this next week.

9:22 p.m. EMS paged to Cameron for a woman who has a fever and catheter problems.

9:55 p.m. Caller on Hwy. 53 near Chetek says a car is swerving all over the road. It has pulled over. 10:26 p.m., deputy says a tow truck is needed.

Saturday, Feb. 6

7:13 a.m. Traffic stop in Chetek. 7:35 a.m., probation will not place a hold. 7:44 a.m., vehicle search. 7:55 a.m., wrecker requested. 8:08 a.m., man in custody for meth possession. Woman in custody for meth possession. En route to the jail. Now pulled over as the woman is vomiting. Back en route to the jail. 8:14 p.m., probation will place a hold. 8:25 a.m., at the jail.

12:08 p.m. EMS paged to a Chetek nursing home for a man with a possible infection.

2:30 p.m. Rusk County requests an ambulance intercept on Hwy. 8. Patient is not breathing and has no pulse. The AED is not working. 2:45 p.m., Bruce ambulance arrived. 2:52 p.m., they have a pulse back. Rice Lake ambulance will respond.

7:22 p.m. Snowmobile went through the ice near the CTH M bridge. The driver is out of the water. She is alert and breathing. They are trying to get her warmed up. 10:06 p.m., crash is not reportable. They have 30 days to remove the sled from the water.

Sunday, Feb. 7

12:32 a.m. Tipster says a man with a warrant is staying in Cameron, per social media. 6:07 a.m., the house is dark and no contact was made.

12:57 a.m. A man stumbled into the Chetek Police Department, frozen with no place to go. Benjamin’s House shelter was contacted. The man will be given a ride there.

1:17 a.m. Power is out at a rural Chetek residence and so is a neighboring residence. They will call the utility. 1:28 a.m., utility’s phones were down for maintenance. Utility was contacted by dispatch.
