1:42 p.m. Chetek man says his wife’s daughter was causing problems. He had to escort her out. He thinks she may call the cops on him. 1:59 p.m., officer spoke with the man and tried to contact the woman. Everything is fine.
6:30 p.m. Wrecker is en route to pull a car out of the ditch in Cameron. 6:57 p.m., officer says the driver fled. 7:15 p.m., they are waiting for a valid driver.
8:44 p.m. Driver on Hwy. 53 near New Auburn lost control of their vehicle and trailer and are in the ditch. No injury. 8:52 p.m., trooper says a trailer jackknifed. It is blocking two lanes. 9 p.m., trailer had a slab of wood on it. Two tires blew on the tandem trailer. There is debris on the road. Highway Department will clear the debris off the road. 9:09 p.m., wrecker en route.
9:04 p.m. Chetek officer says it looks like a car hit a stop sign at Lakeview Drive and 6-1/2 Avenue. 9:26 p.m., highway department will fix it.
11:26 p.m. Cameron woman says she was held against her will for a week after her husband attempted a welfare check on her. She said she no longer lived at the residence but was too scared to leave for a week. She said her wedding ring was stolen by a woman. She was all over the place. 11:37 p.m., deputy tried to call but did not get a response.
Monday, Feb. 8
3:38 a.m. Rural Cameron woman says there is smoke in her bathroom. Furnace looks like it may catch fire. Something is leaking and hissing. 3:48 a.m., utility is en route. 4 a.m., Cameron Fire has not found a fire at this time.
12:16 p.m. Chetek man got a tax form from Nevada for nearly $10,000. He has never resided in Nevada. Deputy advised.
12:48 p.m. Cameron caller says someone damaged his car port and steps. Man will fill out a report.
1:18 p.m. Chetek woman got a scam call claiming to be a utility. They said she had a past due bill. They hung up on her when she started asking questions. Logged for info.
2:33 p.m. Cameron school requests an officer. 4:44 p.m., three subjects were cited for THC possession.
5:38 p.m. Chetek man says another tenant threw a chair outside. 5:42 p.m., another man says a man keeps putting items in front of his door. He said he did not throw the chair. 5:57 p.m., it was a verbal argument.
Tuesday, Feb. 9
12:02 p.m. Chetek officer out with a man at a laundromat about a stolen phone.
12:44 p.m. Cameron business says a woman showed up and did not know why she was in Cameron. 1:04 p.m., officer says the woman does not know how she got there. She has a car but she is not sure where she left it. 1:23 p.m., Rice Lake officer will check the city for the car. It may be there. Woman has a ride coming from Jim Falls. 2:47 p.m., woman’s ride has arrived. Rusk County found the vehicle. They will go and pick it up.
2:47 p.m. Train hit a snow groomer east of Cameron. Train occupants are not injured. Groomer operator is not injured. 3:03 p.m., wrecker en route. 6:06 p.m., wrecker has the groomer. Crossing sign was put back up.
Wednesday, Feb. 10
2:32 a.m. Rural Cameron woman says a man is intoxicated, suicidal and has a gun. He is outside. The man’s brother called them and said he was upset and was trying to pick a fight. Caller says the man was having some financial issues but was able to figure it out. Man is in the shed. Now he is in his room in the house. 3:11 a.m., man is back in the shed and has shut off his phone. Emergency Response Team paged. 3:40 a.m., man is outside. Man is in custody. ERT is not needed. 3:52 a.m., probation was contacted. Man blew a 0.12 PBT. He will be charged with possession of a firearm while intoxicated. 4:01 a.m., en route to Barron for a blood draw. 4:17 a.m., deputy has the firearm. 4:30 a.m., en route to the jail.
4:31 p.m. Rural Chetek caller says they got a scam call claiming to be from the sheriff’s department saying a man has warrants. The man does not have any warrants.
10:03 p.m. Chetek officer requests a log entry for drugs. 10:22 p.m., case will be referred to the district attorney.
Thursday, Feb. 11
8:34 a.m. EMS paged to New Auburn school for an overdose. Juvenile took 20 aspirin. 9:02 a.m., en route to Bloomer. 9:52 a.m., Chippewa County will handle.
1:04 p.m. Drug dog doing a drug sniff at New Auburn school.
2:16 p.m. Possible domestic reported in Chetek. It was heard in the background of a video conference with a student. 2:28 p.m., officer says it was a verbal argument.
2:36 p.m. Caller heard a gunshot in Chetek. 2:51 p.m., it was a transformer that blew.
8:35 p.m. Clerk at Cameron store says there were two women in the store since 4 p.m. They finally checked out and the monitors beeped when they left. They are not allowed to stop them at the door. They left heading east on Hwy. 8. 9:02 p.m., they will try to find the identities of the subjects and mail out citations if they are ID’d.
9:11 p.m. Rural Chetek caller asked for an officer to give him a ride to town because he did not want to walk. When told an officer will not do that, he said there was a suspicious man out on the side of his house. He was told to call the sheriff’s department. 9:19 p.m., man said he checked and did not find anyone out there and did not need a deputy.
Friday, Feb. 12
4:48 a.m. Chetek motel says they fired a woman yesterday and now she is sending threatening texts. They would like to speak with an officer and have them check the parking lot.
10:08 a.m. Chetek officer smells gas on Bird Street. Chetek Fire paged. 10:10 a.m., fire chief will respond. 10:18 a.m., gas utility company contacted. 10:44 a.m., Chetek Fire is clear.
5:51 p.m. Cameron officer out with a couple of vehicles that appear to have been hit by another vehicle. No one was home and the officer will check back later.
Saturday, Feb. 13
1:16 a.m. Car is all over the road on Hwy. 53 near Cameron. 1:26 a.m., traffic stop near Rice Lake. 1:34 a.m., field sobriety tests. 1:47 a.m., man was arrested for OWI. 2:24 a.m., man was released to a sober party and the vehicle was towed.
2:27 a.m. Man says he drove a friend’s car to a Cameron bar and now it is missing. The man said he found the car and to disregard the call.
11:30 a.m. Chetek officer at the school requested a drug log entry.
11:43 a.m. Woman says she has a child in common with a man in rural Chetek and he said he put hands on their child. She asked for photos of the child and the child’s eyes do not look right. She wanted a welfare check. 12:17 p.m., deputy says everything appears to be okay.
12:46 p.m. A mailbox was damaged in Cameron.
11:37 p.m. Rural Cameron caller says the downstairs tenants may be smoking drugs. She can smell burning plastic when she is in the bathroom. She was advised to contact her landlord. Information was passed on to detectives.
Sunday, Feb. 14
10:32 p.m. New Auburn caller says her son is not acting like himself. He is trying to kick in her front door and has damaged it. He got in the house and there was yelling in the background. A man said he was there with the woman when the son started to break in. They were trying to calm him down. 10:53 p.m., man in custody. 11:12 p.m., charges of domestic disorderly conduct. Man said he used THC today. Probation was contacted and will place a hold. 11:21 p.m., no-contact order has been waived.
