9:57 a.m. Chetek woman says a man is at the residence and he has a warrant. 10:08 a.m., man is in custody. 10:34 a.m., man in custody for stolen property, theft and disorderly conduct. The county with his warrant doesn’t want to extradite him. 11:01 a.m., man was dropped off in Rice Lake. He is trying to get to Siren.
4:42 p.m. Child custody issue in New Auburn. Woman says her mother will be picking up her children from another woman. Social services involved as the father is in jail for domestic abuse. The father said he has custody but he does not. 6:02 p.m., grandmother called and said she will pick up the children.
7:53 p.m. Chetek woman says a man contacted her. She has a no-contact order.
8:56 p.m. Wrecker says a truck was stuck behind a bar. When they said the police would be called, a woman in the back said “We’ll just say someone sober was driving.” 9:04 p.m., officer says the truck is on the tracks. No one is around. Caller says the women are in the bar. 9:34 p.m., one in custody for OWI. 9:47 p.m., no damage to the rail tracks. 11:24 p.m., woman was given a ride home.
9:12 p.m. Vehicle rollover on CTH F in Rusk County. 9:24 p.m., EMS is not needed. No one is in the car.
Tuesday, April 6
4:33 a.m. Tree is down in Chetek. 4:58 a.m., city crew was notified.
11:32 a.m. Chetek caller says there is a lot of traffic at the Red Cedar boat landing and there are people making noise. People have dumped junk at the landing.
12:24 p.m. Caller says a man is yelling in Chetek. 12:32 p.m., man was talked to about a parking issue. He will be leaving for a few hours and hopefully the car will be gone before he is back.
1 p.m. Cameron Fire paged for possible gas leak.
1:04 p.m. Deputy says a boat lift was recovered from the middle of the lake. It is at Lake Country Marina.
Wednesday, April 7
10:57 a.m. Cameron Fire is doing a practice fire at a house with an attached garage.
2:19 p.m. Chetek officer says a car backed into the squad car. There is minor damage. A deputy was advised.
2:25 p.m. Chetek caller requests a welfare check on a 5-year-old child. Caller said a man had been abusing the child a year ago. The man was not charged but is not following rules and is at the address. 2:54 p.m., deputy says the caller was upset about a breakup. The child is in school and they will call if there are any problems.
3:31 p.m. Woman says her aunt has dementia and left Ladysmith in a car. She is nearing Cameron. 3:40 p.m., officer has the vehicle stopped. Woman will be en route.
4:32 p.m. Plumber in New Auburn says he was installing a water heater and he was attacked by a dog. The dog bit him and his partner. The dog broke the skin on his partner’s leg. The owner is not sure about vaccinations. 5:22 p.m., a quarantine order was issued for the dog.
7:30 p.m. Caller in rural Cameron is concerned about a bear along the road. It has been there a couple of days. 7:49 p.m., deputy says the bear has a den and is not stuck.
8:44 p.m. Officer requested in Chetek. 8:54 p.m., man was concerned about subjects arguing in the alley near a bar. Everything is okay.
Thursday, April 8
4:10 a.m. Cameron man says a woman has not come home after work this evening. He has tried calling her. 4:15 a.m., attempting to call the woman and her mother. 4:32 a.m., deputy says the woman is on her way home now.
11:45 a.m. Man in Arizona has property near Cameron. He says he has video of a man running around the property yesterday morning. He did not go inside. 1:27 p.m., another woman has video of the man around 11:30 a.m.
12:39 p.m. Dallas woman says a man was at her residence and hit her vehicle’s side mirror. She says she has property at his residence and someone has been coming to her property. Damage has been done on a camper. 12:55 p.m., deputy says the woman went ballistic and demanded to speak to his supervisor and to “do my job.” She said to not bother coming down. 1:01 p.m., woman called back and requested a deputy look at the damage. 1:32 p.m., woman requested the deputies leave without filing a report. 1:42 p.m., en route to speak to the man.
2:20 p.m. Officer at the school. There are issues with a student. 2:42 p.m., student’s father was there and he got very hostile. He was told to leave the school. 3:17 p.m., Rusk County social services contacted. The student will go home with the parent. The student is not having suicidal thoughts.
6:27 p.m. Dallas woman says a man was outside yelling at her and her daughter, calling them names. Deputy advised. 6:43 p.m., deputy says the man came out, made some comments and is refusing to talk to him. 6:55 p.m., Taser deployed. Man is in custody. EMS paged. 7:30 p.m., man is uncooperative. 7:37 p.m., man is en route to the jail.
7:10 p.m. Rural Chetek man says a car is parked on the road by his house. The driver said he is waiting for a friend at the sand plant, but no one at the sand plant knows him. He is concerned the man is up to no good. Deputies have contacted the man. It is an ongoing issue.
7:11 p.m. Caller says a truck did a burnout and a bunch of lumber fell out of the open tailgate. Lumber is all over Dallas Street near Chetek Express. 7:20 p.m., another truck is picking up the lumber. Suspect was identified. 7:28 p.m., man called about officers looking for him. He said he is at a restaurant ordering pizza. 7:48 p.m., officer will keep a lookout for the man.
10:54 p.m. Deputy out with a stopped car on CTH SS south of Cameron. Woman says her friend’s boyfriend was driving when it ran out of gas. She would not say who was driving. 11:34 p.m., owner is en route but does not have another driver for it. It will be towed if it can’t be moved. 11:42 p.m., wrecker requested.
10:57 p.m. Driver says a man was walking on CTH SS. He appeared intoxicated and could hardly stand. 11:15 p.m., deputy out with the man. Man blew a 0.212. He said he was the passenger from the car in the previous log entry. The woman was the driver. Probation will not place a hold. 11:37 p.m., man was dropped off in Cameron.
Friday, April 9
12:05 a.m. Cameron caller says a woman and her boyfriend are fighting. It is physical. 12:40 a.m., man who was dropped off from the last log entry will be given a ride to Rice Lake. 12:57 a.m., no one claimed anything physical happened. Another man was dropped off at an address.
1:12 p.m. Cameron man said he got a scam call from someone claiming to be PayPal. They transferred money from his savings to his checking and told him to get money cards. His bank says he is not out any money.
1:39 p.m. EMS paged to Cameron for an elderly woman who is weak.
2:29 p.m. Cameron man says a neighbor put up a fence and cut some trees on his property.
3:01 p.m. Chetek officer at the school for a student that is suicidal. 4:14 p.m., a safety plan was set up and the student went home with a parent.
3:43 p.m. New Auburn man says a child he is fostering took a knife from the counter and went to another room and locked the door. There is another child in there. The child has refused to give the knife back. 5:26 p.m., man will call back after he is done talking with a social worker. Deputy says one child will stay there and the other will be going with a social worker.
4:59 p.m. Cameron caller says a car pulled into the parking lot. A man who was the passenger struck the female driver, then got out and walked toward the trailer park. Woman left in the car. They have video footage. 5:08 p.m., deputy did not see anyone around.
5:37 p.m. Cameron man says a boat motor and trolling motor was stolen from his property.
7:10 p.m. Foster parent in rural New Auburn says a child took a butter knife and lighter into his room. There was a similar call this morning. 7:44 p.m., child left on foot with a packed bag. Caller is waiting on a call from a social worker. 8:47 p.m., social worker picked up the child and will take the child to a home in Ladysmith.
10:16 p.m. Chetek officer is giving four juveniles a ride.
Saturday, April 10
5:47 a.m. EMS paged to Cameron for a man who fell.
7:10 a.m. Cameron Fire and WITC are doing a controlled structure fire.
10:40 a.m. Chetek officer is out with a couple of subjects behind the school.
11:14 a.m. Cameron woman says a young child is running around without an adult around. 12:06 p.m., child will be at the police station. 12:37 p.m., woman says she woke up and her 4-year-old grandson is missing. 1:04 p.m., woman has the child. She was very upset. Everything is okay and a report will be done.
2:33 p.m. New Auburn man says a dog attacked his dog. 2:43 p.m., caller says his dog attacked the other dog but does not know where it is. 3:33 p.m., dog owners are making arrangements.
6:52 p.m. Woman at a Chetek nursing home says a woman threw a fork and said she was going to kill her when she sleeps. 7:38 p.m., residents will be kept apart.
8:09 p.m. Chetek caller says her daughter ran away. She texted and said she was just going for a walk. 8:21 p.m., officer out with the girl. 8:51 p.m., girl was dropped off.
9:12 p.m. Chetek officer is out with two juveniles that have vapes on them. 9:48 p.m., juveniles were dropped off.
11:39 p.m. Chetek woman is sick and vomiting. She has chest pain and cancer. Helicopter paged. 1:07 a.m., helicopter is on the ground.
Sunday, April 11
10:26 a.m. Chetek woman says she just broke up with a man and he is staying with a friend. He showed up at the residence and was taking photos outside. He took off when she opened the door. She will file a restraining order if needed.
6:57 p.m. Warrant pickup in Dallas. 7:01 p.m., man may be in a motel in Bloomer. 10:42 p.m., man says he is in Osseo and will turn himself in, but he wants to make a deal. He says he is with a woman who was doing drugs. He was advised that deals cannot be made over the phone and to turn himself. Then they can talk. He was advised to call 911 if he needed help with the woman.
