A Chetek man is in jail awaiting sentencing on Jan. 5, 2021, after he pleaded guilty to a charge of drunk driving (sixth offense) during a Friday, Nov. 6, hearing in Barron County Circuit Court.

Daniel M. Rushton, 43, has been in jail since his arrest during the early morning hours of July 4, court records said.

A complaint filed July 6 identified Rushton as the driver of a car stopped by a Chetek police officer at the intersection of South Street and CTH SS.

Rushton failed a field sobriety test and was arrested. Records showed he had five prior drunk driving convictions in Barron and Sawyer counties.
