9:01 a.m. Rural Chetek man says his son might have taken a neighbor’s car. The son had been having some mental health issues lately and said some self-harm statements. 9:51 a.m., the son is back and he is fine. Crisis hotline number was given. 4:24 p.m., owner of the care would like to speak to a deputy. 5:12 p.m., suspect was taken to the hospital. The car owner does not want to pursue charges, just have the suspect spoken to.

1:04 p.m. Chetek officer is helping social services. 2:42 p.m., officer, social worker and a child will be at the police department to wait for a placement.

3:49 p.m. State patrol says a motorcycle was doing 100 mph at CTH SS and CTH O. 3:51 p.m., Chetek officer is following on the Long Bridge. 3:54 p.m., passing on double-yellow. Now passing R-Bar. 3:58 p.m., east on Hwy. 8 at 104 mph. 3:59 p.m., in Rusk County. 4:04 p.m., north on CTH F in Weyerhaeuser. 4:08 p.m., on Pleasant Ridge Road. 5:13 p.m., state patrol has the driver.

Wednesday, May 13

3:55 a.m. Caller says a Cameron man punched a woman in the Chetek. EMS not needed. The man got a new girlfriend and he and the woman were arguing. 4 a.m., deputy says the man has a gun. 4:02 a.m., new caller says his ex-girlfriend was breaking into the house and hung up. Man called back and said everything is fine. 4:05 a.m., mutual aid requested from Rice Lake. One woman has exited the residence. 4:11 a.m., caller says a woman hit another woman and that he left for Eau Claire. 4:11 a.m., man says he didn’t do anything wrong and hung up. 4:22 a.m., man says he is in Eau Claire. He was told it takes longer than 20 minutes to get to Eau Claire. He did not want to see a deputy. 4:31 a.m., deputy will head to the gas station to interview a couple of women. 4:37 a.m., probation will enter a warrant for the man.

9:13 a.m. Woman would like to see an officer to get her stolen car from Cameron. She was advised to park a block away and wait for an officer. 9:26 a.m., woman wanted to enter the residence but was told she cannot.

12:03 p.m. Crash in Cameron with two cars at Creamery Road and Hwy. 8.

12:26 p.m. Man says he has been finding insulin needles at the end of his driveway. He asked if the police would do DNA tests on them. He was told they would just be disposed of. He said he would do that.

2:28 p.m. Cameron man has a trespassing complaint about a neighbor. 3:45 p.m., deputy says the woman is moving to Colfax.

6:05 p.m. New Auburn caller says a neighbor’s dog attacked his chickens for the second time.

6:52 p.m. Caller reports a lot of cars at a Chetek bar.

8:37 p.m. Caller says they went to a local gas station and the clerk was not around.

Thursday, May 14

12:01 a.m. Woman near Cameron says a man in a truck was following her and stopped next to her when she stopped. He then backed up on the wrong side of the road and then passed her.

10:51 a.m. Deputy took a report of an out-of-state car that stopped at a forest near Chetek. The person walked into the woods and grabbed a duffel bag. 12:27 p.m., everything appears to be fine at the address.

9:33 p.m. Cameron officer is looking into a report of child abuse. 9:41 p.m., no one was home. 10:19 p.m., officer will be following up later.

Friday, May 15

2:33 a.m. Cameron caller says a man liked his posts of Facebook. The man is to have no contact with the caller’s wife or her residence and he is not to have Facebook. He was advised to get a restraining order.

3:05 a.m. Chisago County, Minn., says a man was involved in a stabbing and may be heading to Cameron. 5:34 a.m., no one was at the Cameron address.

8:59 a.m. Caller reports a sexual assault that happened in Dallas on Feb. 28.

1:27 p.m. Cameron caller says a woman is on a no-drink order and hit him and his wife. 2:17 p.m., officer did not see the woman and will follow up tomorrow.

1:38 p.m. Chippewa County reports a chase on Hwy. 53 northbound. 1:50 p.m., passing CTH OO. 2:15 p.m., car stopped and woman in custody in Washburn County.

6:54 p.m. New Auburn Fire requests Chetek Fire respond for a turkey barn on fire.

7:08 p.m. Dallas caller says she got a scam call about winning money and prizes.

8:12 p.m. Chetek man quit his job, and his family thinks he is using again. Probation hold issued. 9:26 p.m., man is in custody.

9:32 p.m. Chetek caller says there are two men in a canoe that are moving around without any lights and are not fishing. There have been boat motors stolen in the past and this could be happening. 10:10 p.m., deputy did not see anything.

Saturday, May 16

2:42 a.m. Rural Chetek caller says someone is knocking on their door and ringing the doorbell and will not say who they are. Man identified himself and said he just wanted to say “Hi.” Man appears to be intoxicated on something. 3:38 a.m., deputy says it appears the man made it to his mother’s house nearby.

2:31 p.m. Woman at CTH SS and Hwy. 8 says she was in a domestic. 3:08 p.m., there was no domestic. Woman wants to go somewhere safe. She was being told about the shelter in Ladysmith when she hung up.

4:50 p.m. New Auburn caller has an injured owl in his yard.

4:56 p.m. Woman in rural Chetek says she wants to go back to Illinois. She was upset and yelling at family. 5:19 p.m., woman was told she can go back to Illinois but her young baby will be staying with the grandparents.

4:58 p.m. New Auburn man says a woman was going through his belongings when he was gone.

8:06 p.m. Rice Lake store says two men loaded up with electronics and ran into a cart. Heading south on Hwy. 53. 8:21 p.m., Chetek officer is following the car. There are three people inside. 8:24 p.m., driver is in custody. They admitted to being at the store. 10:58 p.m., probation will place a hold on a man and woman.

10:56 p.m. Cameron gas station says a man had trouble driving and putting fuel in the car. He may be on drugs or intoxicated. 11:03 p.m., officer says the car left already.

Sunday, May 17

2:30 a.m. Caller thinks a driver in Cameron is intoxicated. They are no longer driving and are at a residence.

5 p.m. Chetek woman got a fake Amazon scam.

5:15 p.m. Chetek woman says a man is intoxicated and driving to Cameron to settle a dispute she got in. 5:31 p.m., no one is around.

7:51 p.m. Caller says a woman was near Chetek at a rest stop and was making suicidal statements. 8:36 p.m., deputy will be contacting a crisis worker. 8:55 p.m., a safety plan was set in place and the woman will go with her mother.

9:08 p.m. Caller requests a welfare check on a juvenile in Cameron who appears to be drinking in a Facebook live video. She would like him sent home. 9:29 p.m., officer says the residence is quiet.

Monday, May 18

7:30 a.m. Chetek woman says her husband is breathing but is not waking up. EMS paged. 7:54 a.m., helicopter is en route to Eau Claire.

9:46 a.m. Chetek man says he was scammed out of $1,400 on eBay. eBay has info on the scammer.

11:15 a.m. Cameron Fire paged for a tree on a power line that is starting on fire on 22-1/2 Street.

2:02 p.m. Chetek woman says a new neighbor is not letting her use a shared driveway and it is impeding her access. 3:13 p.m., she will call if she his harassed.

3:21 p.m. Chetek caller says a neighbor’s dog attacked his dog and he shot the dog in the leg. He told the neighbor and is talking the dog to the vet.
