Monday, June 13

5:20 a.m., A homeless man was sleeping between 16 ½ Ave. and 19th St. in Cameron. A deputy spoke with the man who said he had been walking since Minnesota. The man said there were satellites and paddleboards attacking him. The deputy explained to the man that he couldn’t sleep at a boat landing. The man left in the morning.

1:24 p.m., A man from the 25 block of Bird St. in Chetek said he was at a state funded home and he wasn’t being given food. An officer went to the residence and the man had a medical condition requiring him to be moved to a different facility.

3:04 p.m., A caller from the 1330 block of 21 ½ St. in Cameron said their neighbor was shooting geese. The caller said one goose was dead in the water and two others were injured and trying to swim away. A deputy went to the residence of the neighbor.

3:37 p.m., A hit and run occurred in the parking lot of a business in the 320 block of Second St. in Chetek. An officer spoke with the driver who left the scene.

7:44 p.m., A restaurant in the 210 block of Knapp St. in Chetek said a woman had fallen in the street and was picked up by a couple men who led her to the curb. An officer gave the woman a ride home.    

Tuesday, June 14

12:32 a.m., A caller said there was a pickup truck driving with their cab lights on in between 25th St. and 8 ¼ Ave. in Chetek. The caller said the vehicle was driving recklessly. An officer checked the area and spoke with the caller.

6:15 a.m., A caller said a woman was walking a couple miles east of Cameron on Hwy. 8. The caller said the woman had backpacks and baggage with her. A deputy gave the woman a ride to a gas station.

11:10 a.m., An officer went to an address in the 1105 block of west Stout St. in Chetek for an ordinance violation.

12:45 p.m., A deputy conducted a welfare check on a woman and child in the 1425 block of 7 ½ Ave. in Dallas because someone had shot the windows out of their car. The deputy said the child was okay and they would review the damage.

2:14 p.m., A woman had an arrest warrant in the 360 block of 13 ½ St. in Dallas. The woman was taken to jail by a deputy.

11:08 p.m., An officer noticed an unoccupied vehicle in the parking lot of a school in the 910 block of north Second St. in Cameron. The officer was able to make contact with the owner.

Wednesday, June 15

6:17 a.m., A caller in the 370 block of City Park Dr. in Chetek said their neighbor had fallen outside and believed the person had been laying there all night. An officer called a family member and Chetek EMS arrived at the residence.

6:20 p.m., A boy cut his chin in the 430 block of 20th St. in Chetek. The juvenile was awake but looked quite pale. Dallas Fire Department was on the scene with Chetek EMS. Lifelink was also requested to airlift the child to an area hospital.

11:26 p.m., A person from the 1395 block of 19th St. in Cameron wanted to report a man for harassment.

Thursday, June 16

8:25 a.m., A vehicle fire was reported in the 905 block of Fifth St. in Chetek. The Chetek Fire Department and Chetek Police Department were at the scene. The fire was put out and would remain on the street until the owner could contact their insurance company.

1:05 p.m., A caller from the 1140 block of 21st St. in Chetek said a man came to their residence to try and sell an asphalt job.

4:18 p.m., A caller said a dog had been barking since earlier in the morning in the 610 block of Dallas St. in Chetek. An officer said the animal was taken inside the residence.

Friday, June 17

8:19 a.m., An officer returned a missing dog in the 800 block of First St. in Cameron.

8:59 a.m., A two-vehicle crash was reported on CTH SS in Chetek. The caller said they were unsure if anyone had been injured. Chetek EMS, Chetek Fire Department were requested at the scene to provide aid. It became known to deputies that the vehicle was trying to turn around and went too far into the ditch. The vehicle was removed before dark.

10:46 a.m., A person wanted to report a domestic abuse incident that had occurred in the 750 block of 14 ½ St. in Dallas. The person said their child had marks on them after an altercation with the man and the child. The person said the man was out on bond and was to have no abusive contact with the person. A deputy went to the residence to speak with the man but they would not come to the door so the deputy left a message for the man to get in contact with the department.

1:44 p.m., A man in the 1250 block of 24 ½ St. in Cameron said he and his spouse had been arguing. When she decided to leave the residence, he locked the doors. The caller said his spouse was now outside with a hatchet trying to break down the door. The caller said the woman did make it back into the residence. A deputy said the woman had left the residence.

4:54 p.m., Two people were trying to hot wire a vehicle in a parking lot in the 320 block of Second St. in Chetek. The two individuals left unsuccessful and an officer spoke with the owner of the vehicle who said they had permission to leave the vehicle in the parking lot.

5:31 p.m., A caller requested a welfare check in the 315 block of Schofield St. in Chetek for their child. The caller said they had been unable to make contact with them and were supposed to be seeing their child at a designated time for drop off but the child was not brought. An officer went to the residence but no one was home at the time.

5:35 p.m.,  A caller said she was supposed to do a child exchange at a convenient site in the 320 block of Second St. in Chetek. The caller said their ex who they were supposed to do the child exchange with, had a warrant. An officer spoke with the ex and took him to jail.

10:13 p.m., A caller in the 1895 block of 12 ½ Ave. in Cameron said they wanted to report a vehicle stolen after the vehicle was taken by an acquaintance of their daughter’s. The daughter and the acquaintance may have had an altercation before the vehicle was taken. The vehicle was returned by the time a deputy went to the residence.

Saturday, June 18

11:07 a.m., A caller said a cooler was in the roadway near mile marker 128 on Hwy 53 near the Chetek exit.

11:32 a.m., A caller said a woman was refusing to leave his residence in the 635 block of Banks St. in Chetek. The caller said they had requested for the woman to leave multiple times but she continued to refuse. An officer said the woman left the residence after their arrival.

2:39 p.m., A caller said a kayak had flown off a vehicle on Hwy 53 near mile marker 135 in Cameron. The caller said they hit the kayak. Both vehicles waited for a deputy to arrive on the scene.

4:30 p.m., A caller requested an ambulance in the 925 block of Second St. in Chetek for a man who was intoxicated. The man asked for the ambulance to be canceled and the caller said the man was sick because of marijuana. The caller said she would be arranging for transportation back to their town.

6:07 p.m., A caller said his son was taking property from his outbuilding in the 1895 block of 12 ½ Ave. in Cameron. The caller said the things his son was taking were not his to take. The son was gone when the deputy arrived and the father wanted advice on how to deal with the situation.

7:50 p.m., An intoxicated man was trying to talk to people and was stumbling around at west Main St. and north First St. in Cameron. An officer spoke with the man and he was fine.

11:37 p.m., A caller said they noticed a woman laying in the road face down at 29th St. and 3 ½ Ave. in New Auburn. The caller said they turned their vehicle around so they could shine their headlights on the woman to see if she was okay. The woman got up and started walking. The caller said she was stumbling and acting strange. A deputy tried to locate the woman but said they couldn’t find her.

Sunday, June 19

 1:15 a.m., An officer checked on a vehicle that had its hazards on in a driveway in the 100 block of Sunnyside Ave. in Cameron.

2:27 a.m., A caller from the 2540 block of 8 ¼ Ave. in Chetek said a group of tourists were fighting. The caller asked for a deputy to be a presence to encourage the group to disperse. One member of the group was taken to a residence and another party was cited for being underage.

7:08 a.m., A caller from the 1745 block of 21 ½ St. in Cameron said a little piglet was in his yard. The caller wasn’t sure where the little pig came from but said it wasn’t harming anything. A deputy checked the area for the piglet but could not locate it.

2:28 p.m., Chetek EMS was requested at a residence in the 655 block of 24 1/8 St. in Chetek. Chetek Fire Department was also requested at the residence. An area funeral home was requested at the residence.

3:33 p.m., A caller said a vehicle ran into the side of her in the 1900 block of 16 ½ Ave. in Cameron. The driver of the other vehicle was cited for an OWI and OAR.
