A registered sex offender who has completed a prison sentence was released in Chippewa County on Tuesday, Jan. 21, according to the Chippewa County Sex Offender Notification Committee.
Steven P. Harrison, 33, was released from the Racine Correctional Institution on Jan. 21 and will reside in Chippewa County, where he is required to live. As of Friday, Jan. 17, a permanent address for Harrison had not been set and he would be considered homeless.
Harrison has served time for his convicted offenses, but will remain under Department of Corrections supervision through Jan. 27, 2030. Conditions of his supervision restrict him from being on any property of schools, parks or day care centers; that he comply with standard sex offender rules and requirements; that he have GPS monitoring; that he have face-to-face contact with law enforcement; and that he remains a lifetime sex offender registrant.

In November 2011, he was convicted of second-degree sexual assault of a child in Chippewa County and served time.
In Minnesota in 2011, he was convicted of harassment and hiring a prostitute, the press release said. In 2002, in Minnesota, he was convicted of two counts of fifth-degree sexual misconduct and second-degree sexual conduct.
