Fans of Charlie Berens, Wisconsin’s unofficial ambassador and “poet laure-Ope” (yes, we’re coining that), will be pleased to know he was in the Chetek area this past month, along with Myles Montplaisir, of the show “You Betcha.” Ojaski Lake can be spotted in the background of a recent video titled “Starting a Bonfire,” featuring Berens and Montplaisir. The two humorously debate over the best way to start a fire: log cabin, teepee or both (pictured above, with Montplaisir at left and Berens at right). Another video released on Tuesday, June 30, shows the two attempting to back in a boat at the Pokegama boat landing. While here, Montplaisir also filmed a “You Betcha” show with Berens, during which they talked about bird-watching, what looks to be a first-time water-skier on Ojaski Lake and, at the suggestion of Montplaisir (who is from North Dakota), the worst things about Wisconsin.
