A Rusk County man has died after he was trapped in a corn bin in Sheldon, Rusk County, according to Sheriff Jeffery Wallace.

A caller reported a man had become trapped in a corn bin at Sheldon Co-op, village of Sheldon, on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 19. Rusk County sheriff's deputies, Sheldon Fire Department, Rusk County EMS, Ladysmith Fire Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Life Link III and Jump River Fire Department responded.

The man, identified as Kevin A. Wiemer, 58, of Glen Flora, was extracted and lifesaving measures were taken but were not successful. Wiemer was pronounced deceased at the scene.
