The popular Chetek Wine Walk is Thursday, June 20, from 4–7 p.m., featuring wine and drink samples at 12 businesses, collectable wine glasses, wine walk tank tops, wine glass lanyards, coupons and prize drawings.

The event, sponsored by Pillar Construction Group, supports the Liberty Fest fireworks.

While shopping at participating businesses (listed below), for each $10 shoppers spend, they will receive a ticket to be entered into a prize drawing, held at 7:15 p.m. that evening at Main Street Park, located at 624 Second St., next to Ohde Pharmacy.

Businesses participating are Candy Corner & Creations, Carpe Diem, CJ Conner Art Studio, It’s My Lucky Day Unique Boutique, Just Imagine Floral & Vintage Treasure, Lake Country Marina, Off “R” Rockers, Pillar Construction Group, The Pine Lodge, Whimsical Wares, Chetek Bakery and Hope & Anchor Coffeehouse.

Entry slips must be brought to the park by 7 p.m. and the participant must be present to win.

Given away will be a portable firepit filled with goodies, valued at $500 and sponsored by Pillar Construction Group; a “Make & Take” class from Off “R” Rockers, valued at $250; and two prize baskets, valued at $250 each, filled with gift certificates, clothing, décor and more.

Wine walk shops to stop at

It wouldn’t be a wine walk without wine, of course. Free, 2-ounce samples of wine will be available to those who purchase a Lampert Lumber wine walk bag (containing a special wine glass, pictured inset, hand-painted by Julie Wilson, and a coupon book with 21 coupons). The wine walk bags can be purchased at any of these 10 businesses that are offering wine samples and snacks: Candy Corner & Creations, Carpe Diem, CJ Conner Art Studio, It’s My Lucky Day Unique Boutique, Just Imagine Floral & Vintage Treasure, Lake Country Marina, Off “R” Rockers, Pillar Construction Group, The Pine Lodge and Whimsical Wares.

Also, free nonalcoholic samples will be offered at the Chetek Bakery with sangria, and Hope & Anchor Coffeehouse with iced tea.

Don’t forget to grab a bite to eat before, during or after the event. Restaurants participating in the wine walk include B & B Bar and Grill, Caddy Shack Pizza & Pub, Chetek Lanes Event Center & Pizzeria, Fostbites Pub, Gilligans, Lynda’s Lakeshore Resort, Phill’s Bar & Grill, Pokegama Lakeside Tavern & Grill, Red’s and Sassy’s.

A friendly reminder to not carry alcohol out of the shops. Chetek has a law banning open containers on the street, with fines starting at $124.

New etched glasses, tank tops, wine glass lanyard

New this year are etched wine glasses, which are being sold at Main Street Park, next to Ohde Pharmacy. These will be sold for $20 and can be used for both 2019 Chetek Wine Walks. A coupon book is not included with the etched glass.

Also new this year are wine walk tank tops, created by Cheryl Schmidt, of Pillar Construction Group. The tank tops can be purchased for $15 at Main Street Park.

Stop by Sterling Bank for a free wine glass lanyard, which goes around your neck and holds a wine glass.
