The four-piece band Sage is playing the Chetek Liberty Fest Beach Party on Thursday, July 4, from 2–6 p.m. at the City Beach on Lakeview Drive. Entry fee into the Beach Party is $5. The band plays popular dance music from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, as well as rock and country. They have been around for 47 years, said bassist Mark Anderson. The band started with Anderson and his two brothers, Gary, on drums, and Randy, on guitar. Randy has since passed and Jerry Hanson now plays lead guitar with Barry Humphrey, also on guitar. All members sing, allowing for unique three- and four-part harmonies, which the band is known for. It’s their first time playing Liberty Fest, but Mark said the audience is guaranteed to enjoy the music as they keep the genres mixed and varied. People will have fun whether dancing or just listening, Mark said. The band plays around Northwest Wisconsin, appearing at Six Lakes Resort and Gilligans in Chetek.
