Winter weather

A winter storm warning has been issued for northwest Wisconsin, starting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6, and lasting through Thursday evening, Feb. 7. This means significant amounts of snow, sleet or ice are expected, making travel hazardous.

"Snow, heavy at times, along with mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 8 inches and ice accumulations of around one tenth of an inch expected," the National Weather Service said. "Most of the heavy snow will fall Thursday morning, through Thursday afternoon. Only light snow amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected tonight."

Travel could be very difficult and may impact daily commutes in the morning and evening.
