Updated results from the Town of Big Bend, in Rusk County, have added about 20 more votes for each candidate in the Chetek-Weyerhaeuser school board election, however the outcome has not changed.

After press time on Tuesday, April 6, updated results from Rusk County showed 22 votes for Carri Traczyk, 20 votes for Janene Haselhuhn and 21 votes for Austin Chamberlain.

The district-wide totals, which include parts of Barron, Rusk, Chippewa and Dunn counties, were now 803 for Traczyk, 744 for Haselhuhn and 626 for Chamberlain, meaning Traczyk and Haselhuhn have been reelected to the school board.

Barron County Clerk DeeAnn Cook noted there was a minor reporting error from the Village of Almena. An early vote count showed 60 yes votes and 68 no votes for the Barron school referendum question 1. The error was corrected to 60 yes votes and 28 no votes a short time later during proofing on election night, Cook said.

Election results are unofficial and will be made official after local and county boards of canvassers meet to certify the vote counts within the next two weeks.
