The award recipient for the 2019 UW-Eau Claire – Barron County Foundation Inc., Barb Ritzinger, pictured at left, accepts a check for $200 from Miranda Boelkes, right, Heritage Credit Union representative, on Oct. 29.

The Heritage Credit Union Richard J. McGrath Endowment Fund helps support local social organizations in the communities served by the credit union’s branches. More than $80,000 has been distributed to worthy causes since the fund was founded in 2007.

The Chetek-area award recipient for 2019 is University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire – Barron County Foundation Inc. The funds will be used for UW-Eau Claire-Barron County’s Thursdays at the U lecture series that explores topics in the arts, sciences and cultural areas.

The fund is named after a former member of Heritage’s board of directors, who dedicated more than 30 years of volunteer service to the credit union. Applications for the endowment are accepted each year, from July 1 to Aug. 31. Social organizations that wish to be considered for an award in 2020 may apply during the application period by visiting www.heritagecu.org or any Heritage branch.

Heritage Credit Union serves nearly 30,000 members, with 11 branches in Wisconsin and Illinois. With over $375 million in assets, Heritage is dedicated to simplifying banking to help people save time while meeting their financial needs.
