The Rice Lake Community Health Foundation has approved the Chetek Food Shelf’s application for the RLCHF’s matching funds grant.

This means if the Chetek Food Shelf is able to raise $20,000 in donations, the RLCHF will match that amount, dollar for dollar.

The Chetek Food Shelf can begin accepting donations immediately, but in order to be eligible for matching funds, checks must be made payable to the RLCHF with the name “Chetek Food Shelf” on the memo notation.

The Chetek Food Shelf is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that is funded solely by donations and is staffed by nonpaid volunteers. All donations are tax deductible. Tax receipts are available upon request.

The food shelf serves residents of the Chetek-Weyerhaeuser Area School District. It is the food shelf’s mission to provide for basic human necessities to improve the quality of life for people in our area. The food shelf also supports the CWASD’s elementary school backpack program.

The Chetek Food Shelf is open in a new location, at 50 N. Hwy. Blvd. S, every Tuesday and Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Visitors are always welcome.

The mailing address is Chetek Food Shelf, P.O. Box 524, Chetek, WI 54728.
