The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile was in Chetek on Friday, Sept. 6, at KJ’s Fresh Market as people posed for photos with the 27-foot-long Wienermobile and got their very own Wiener Whistles that can mimic the iconic melody. There are six Wienermobiles, which are based in different areas of the U.S., this one being from the central area based in Madison, according to Cameron Callanan and Tyler Peterson, the official “Hot Doggers” with the Wienermobile. They travel to 30 states during their yearlong job with the vehicle. Pictured above, left to right, are Peterson; Jazmine Kangas, Steven Kangas and Emily Rathbun, all of Chetek; and Callanan. Peterson and Callanan said the best part of the job is seeing the smiles, meeting people and making their days brighter. The vehicle was headed to Cornell and Grantsburg, and then would be heading to Indianapolis, Ind.
