Mayo Clinic Health System – Northland reopened the clinic north of Cameron as a remote drive-through test site for COVID-19, pictured above. Another site was opened in Eau Claire. Only current patients at Mayo Health system are being screened and only if they have been referred for testing by their doctor. Mayo patients should first call their clinic and a doctor or nurse will determine if you meet the criteria for testing. People should not show up to the site unexpected and without being pre-screened. Patients that meet the pre-screening criteria will be directed to the site in Cameron or Eau Claire where staff will collect test samples. The samples will be sent to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., for analysis. Currently, Mayo Clinic has a no-visitor policy in effect for all hospitals and clinics in Northwest Wisconsin. Exceptions are made for one visitor for end-of-life patients, pediatric patients and the birth of a child. All visitors will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms. Family members of inpatients are encouraged to use other ways to connect, such as via phone or other devices.
