Jenny Melsness, of Chetek, found this postcard in her grandmother Pearl Albright’s belongings. Albright lived in a log cabin on Leonard Street, which was one of the first in Chetek, Melsness said. The photo looks east from downtown Chetek. The Presbyterian Church once stood at the northeast corner of Second and Stout streets. The postcard is dated to the early 1900s, and the postage was one cent for delivery in North America or two cents for overseas delivery.

To submit a photo for Picture from the Past, bring it into the office, send to P.O. Box 5, Chetek, WI 54728, or email a scanned image and information to editor@thechetekalert.com. Photos are not harmed and can be returned in the mail.
