WAWN-June 12, 2019

Tim Knutson, of Chetek, and John Gorse, formerly of Chetek, were in Normandy, France, on June 6 for the 75th anniversary of the Allied invasion of Europe during World War II. Knutson and Gorse were accompanying a group of D-Day veterans who were being interviewed for a documentary produced by a D-Day veteran, George Ciampa. Read next week’s Chetek Alert for coverage of Knutson’s and Gorse’s time in France. Pictured above, Knutson, on the motorcycle, and Gorse, behind him to the left, pose for a photo with WWII French Marine reenactors in Sainte-Marie-du-Mont, France. Sainte-Marie-du-Mont is 3,978 miles from Chetek.
