Dovre Lutheran is commemorating 141 years of worship and service at its little country church in rural Chetek Sunday, Sept. 19. Originally, plans were made to celebrate 140 years during the summer of 2020, but all that changed with COVID-19. However, time marches on and so does Dovre.

Parents, students, teachers and community members from all different church backgrounds are invited to participate in a prayer gathering called “Around-the-Grounds” which will be held on Monday, Aug. 23, at noon at the Chetek-Weyerhaeuser High School/Middle School flag pole.

Chetek United Methodist Church is sponsoring the 15th Girlfriends’ Luncheon and Boutique on Saturday, Aug. 7, with doors opening at 10:30 a.m. for viewing of the individually decorated tables and shopping in the boutique of gently used items. Purchases in the boutique are by a “love donation.”
