At this month’s Stonecroft outreaches, Jan Ostroot, of South Haven, Minn., shares how she discovered the secret of contentment—no matter the crisis. All ladies are welcome.

The Chetek Area After Five meets at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 16, at Norske Nook, 2900 Pioneer Ave., Rice Lake. The cost of the meal is $8. Robyn Lee, of New Auburn, will provide a special feature called “Beds for Kids.” Reservations for this meeting can be made by calling Gladys Huset at 715-837-1445 by Friday, Sept. 13.

The Rice Lake Women’s Connection meets at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Lehman’s Supper Club, 2911 S. Main St., Rice Lake. Chris Hagen, of Aging & Disability Resource Center, will discuss “Low Vision Issues” for the special feature. The regular menu includes a potato egg bake with sausage links and a cinnamon apple compote. A diet plate of a veggie omelet, strawberry yogurt and a whole wheat English muffin can also be ordered. The brunch cost is $9.50. Reservations or cancellations can be made by calling Pat Staycoff at 715-234-1253 or 715-651-8841 by Sept. 13.
