Parents, students, teachers and community members from all different church backgrounds are invited to participate in a prayer gathering called Around-the-Grounds, which will be held Tuesday, Aug. 20.
Around-the-Grounds is not a protest march. It's a prayer meeting that moves. It's an affirmation that God wants kids to be safe and the learning community to be healthy. Toward that end, the group will pray.
The gathering will begin at 12 p.m. at the flagpole outside of Chetek-Weyerhaeuser High School/Middle School. Depending on the size of the group that gathers, people will be broken up into groups of twos and threes and pray around the grounds of the school or through the halls. Later, they'll travel over to Roselawn Elementary to repeat the process.
All faith communities in town are asked to take time during their corporate worship services over the next few weeks to pray for God's blessing on the students and staff of the school district.
Around-the-Grounds is an annual gathering sponsored by the Chetek Christian Ministerial Association. For more information, call Martin at 715-924-2140.
