Amanda Hansman, of Chippewa Falls, has opened Embrace Nutrition, a nutrition club with Herbalife products, located at 221 Second St., in Chetek.

A new shop has opened in Chetek, selling Herbalife smoothies and drinks that promote nutrition and wellness.

Embrace Nutrition, located at 221 Second St., next to Silver Coin Laundry, is owned by Amanda Hansman, of Chippewa Falls.

“I really enjoy helping others get healthy,” Hansman said at her store that opened on May 23. “I decided in 2018, I would open a nutrition club.”

Hansman’s first shop, called Heavenly Nutrition, opened in Lake Wissota and grew successfully With that store running smoothly on its own and serving around 50 people a day, she decided to open a nutrition club in Chetek.

Herbalife is a meal replacement program, Hansman explained. They have smoothies, teas, sports drinks and other supplements. The smoothies, for example, have 24 grams of protein and 21 vitamins with each serving.

Hansman said it’s not SlimFast, but instead focuses on providing “core nutrition.” Herbalife has meal plans and she can offer coaching for people looking to manage weight, whether it be losing, gaining or maintaining. There are different programs, such as a belly fat program, she said.

As a club, people can sign up for memberships, but it’s not required to use the products, she said. Members get access to programs, such as a belly fat program and can get supplies make the products at home.

Adults, kids, expecting mothers can use the smoothies, she said.

Hansman said her sister introduced her to Herbalife products when she was going through a tough time in her life.

In 2015, Hansman had a miscarriage. “The hardest thing a mom can ever go through,” she said and it sent her into a spiral. “I was kind of lost.”

At the time, she weighed 275 pounds, she said. Knowing something had to change she started

She had baryatric surgery, where doctors cut out a part of her stomach so she could not eat as much. But there were complications and she got sick. It required 10 surgeries to fix. Today, she has no stomach; her small intestine is her stomach now.

During all this, it was a very dark time for her, Hansman said. “I was dying inside and no one was helping me.”

Her sister had been drinking Herbalife smoothies and she suggested Hansman try them out. She did, she really liked them and they made her feel better, she said.

From this, she went to classes about the products and learned more, eventually becoming a Herbaline product distributor.

“I really enjoy helping others get healthy,” she said. That is what got her started with first opening a club in Lake Wissota.
