On Friday, Oct. 5, parents of children at Bright Beginnings Program were invited to the Chetek Fire Hall to meet firefighters and see the fire-fighting equipment and fire trucks. Around 50 kids attended, along with their parents, along with Christa Schommer, Brenda Gustum, Cassie Palmer and Cheryl Anderson at Bright Beginnings. Pictured, left, four-year-old Kaden Elwood, of Chetek, tries on the helmet belonging to firefighter Logan Dwyer. Pictured, right, Fire Chief Ryan Olson shows kids and their parents the fire helmets they use. This week, Sunday, Oct. 7, through Saturday, Oct. 13, is Fire Prevention Week, and on Wednesday, Oct. 10, the Chetek Fire Department will be at Roselawn Elementary to teach those students about fire safety and prevention.
