Valedictorians for the CWHS Class of 2021 are Rylee Buchman, Madison Haas, Samuel Hall, Joseph Jensen, Kendyl Johnson, Brody Killoren, Madeleine Schofield and Rebecca York. This year’s salutatorian is Maggie Timm.

Rylee Buchman is the daughter of Matt Buchman and Holly Buchman, of Chetek. She currently works for Red’s. Throughout her four years of high school, Buchman was involved in a variety of sports, including golf, dance and track and field. She has also been involved in several school organizations, including National Honor Society (president), Student Council (vice-president), Leo Club, Freshmen Mentor Program, The Tutor Program, Bulldog Buddies and the Prom Committee. In addition, she’s participated in band as a percussionist all four years and also skis with the Chetek Hydroflites over the summer. This fall, Buchman intends to attend University of Wisconsin-Madison to major in biochemistry with hopes of becoming a pediatric pharmacist.

Madison Haas is the daughter of Nicole and Jessiah Haas, of Sand Creek. She works at Dove Healthcare-Bloomer, Subway and the Sand Creek Café. Active in athletics, Haas has played volleyball, basketball and softball during her high school years. She’s also a member of Science Olympiad (captain), Student Council (secretary), Foodie Club, International Culture Club, Bulldog Buddies and the Leo Club. She will attend University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire this fall where she intends to major in nursing and become a nurse practitioner.

Samuel Hall is the son of Rick and Mary Hall, of Weyerhaeuser. He currently does drone photography and videography for local businesses and realtors. During his high school career, Hall was a member of Future Business Leaders of America, SkillsUSA, Conservation Club, National Honor Society and baseball. Outside of school, he’d spend much of his winters snowboarding at Christie Mountain. After high school, Hall hopes to start a small software business and is working on the best path to get him there.

Joseph Jensen is the son of Scott and Amanda Jensen, of Chetek. He currently works at ABC Truss. Jensen has been involved in a number of activities throughout his high school career, including Student Council (treasurer), National Honor Society (treasurer), Conservation Club, Snow Club, basketball (captain), cross country (captain), track, Drama Club and the Freshmen Mentor Program. This fall, Jensen plans to attend University of Wisconsin-La Crosse for biochemistry and psychology and intends to continue on to medical school for pediatrics. He hopes to run track at UW-La Crosse, as well.

Kendyl Johnson is the daughter of Mary and Greg Johnson, of Chetek. She is currently employed with Pokegama Lakeside Cantina. During her high school career, Johnson was a cross country captain and manager, a dance team captain, Yearbook president, and a member of the National Honor Society (community activity director), Spanish Club and International Club. This fall, Johnson will attend UW-Madison to major in biochemistry or biology, with the hopes of studying pharmacy and even earning her doctorate.

Brody Killoren is the son of Lee and Teresa Killoren, of Sand Creek. He is currently employed at Synergy Co-op in Sand Creek. During his senior year, Killoren was named Student Council President and Drum Major of the CWHS Band. Over his high school career, he’s also been involved in SkillsUSA, track and field, cross country, Science Olympiad, Conservation Club, FBLA, Academic Decathlon, National Honor Society and Freshmen Mentors. This fall, he will attend UW-Madison where he plans to major in business, with the hopes of creating and managing his own business.

Madeleine Schofield is the daughter of Matthew and Courtney Schofield, of Chetek. Over her high school career, Schofield has been a captain on both the volleyball and basketball teams and also played softball. She participated in Future Business Leaders of America, Yearbook, Fitness Club, Bulldog Buddies and the Spanish Club. This fall, she plans to attend UW-LaCrosse to major in accounting.

Rebecca York is the daughter of Ralph and Sarah York, of Chetek. Currently employed with Meadowbrook at Chetek, York has been involved in a number of activities during her high school years: cross country, track and field, basketball (co-captain), volleyball, National Honor Society, Freshmen Mentors, Leo Club (treasurer), Yearbook, Bulldog Buddies, Culture Club, Science Olympiad, Band and International Travel Club. This fall, York plans to attend Viterbo University to obtain her Bachelor’s of Science in nursing and become a registered nurse.

Maggie Timm is this year’s salutatorian. She is the daughter of Clayton and Kelly Timm, of Chetek. She is currently employed at Sterling Bank in Chetek. During her high school career, Timm was heavily involved with athletics, participating in volleyball, basketball and softball. She was also a member of the Freshmen Mentor Program, The Tutor Program, Yearbook, National Honor Society, Bulldog Buddies, Girls Fitness Club and Future Business Leaders of America. Upon graduating, Timm plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison for physical education with the hopes of becoming a teacher.

Congratulations to these fine young men and women on their incredible accomplishments. Thank you for showing us all what it means to be a Bulldog!
