On Monday night, I attended the New Auburn Board of Education meeting to support making masks optional at school. I would have preferred a vote to make masks optional at all times, but I am glad they at least made masks optional in classrooms. It’s a start, and a step in the right direction.

What I appreciated most, though, was the fact that the board and administration actually discussed the issue in light of the feedback and data they received. I know this didn’t always happen in other districts, so I am glad to know that New Auburn is one district that is open to new data and listening to all of its constituents.
