To the person/people that are vandalizing our storefront:
The shop owners of Chetek take great pride in our community. We live, work and give back to the community in many ways, including contributions to charities, benefits and organizations. We work hard to create a welcoming storefront that is appealing to all. We all decorate for the season to make Chetek a more festive place to live and visit. After working for hours in the cold last week putting up our holiday decor, we had our storefront vandalized within days. Our flag was ripped down, breaking the holder. We found a multitude of beer bottles stuffed in our holiday porch pots. Our holiday wreath had ribbon and a big bow ripped off. It was obvious it was done on purpose and maliciously since it was higher up. This was not the first time, but it is the “straw that broke the camel’s back.” Our decorations symbolize the season. Christmas is a time of happiness, goodwill and generosity. It is obvious that the person/people that are doing this have none of these attributes in their hearts. If you really feel the need to destroy something, let us know … we have plenty of pallets you can rip apart. Please leave our decorations alone for all to enjoy.
