Please note that this is the last week that candidate letters can be published for the Tuesday, Nov. 3, election. Letters about political issues will be printed through the election, as space allows, but letters about candidates will not, due to the number of letters received and their advertorial nature.

All of the Alert’s other policies for letters to the editor remain in effect, including a 500-word submission limit and requiring the submitter’s name and city of residence. The policies can be viewed by searching for “policies on letters” at They are also printed on this page intermittently.
