Louise E. Anderson

Louise E. (Knutson) Anderson, 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, at her daughter’s home in Albuquerque, N.M., from a very aggressive form of cancer.

She was born on April 23, 1930, to Edwin and Lillian (Moen) Knutson and graduated from Colfax High School, in Wisconsin, in 1948.

She married Robert Anderson on Oct. 15, 1949. Along with her husband, they built a large and very successful dairy farm outside Ridgeland, Wis. In 1972, they moved to Chetek, Wis., and she worked at Knapp Haven Nursing Home until her retirement.

Louise was an incredibly active woman, enjoying ice skating, fishing, downhill skiing and water skiing with her family and friends. But best of all, she loved her garden and flowers. She liked reading, knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, embroidering and baking, but only in the winter as spring and summer were meant for growing things outside. Her pies, cookies and lefse were legendary. She also had the best blueberry bushes in the area. If there was a flea market, garage sale, estate sale or auction, you could almost always find her there. She and her husband enjoyed a large collection of antiques at their property on Prairie Lake and were the consummate hosts for people from all over the country to check out the hearses, popcorn wagons, sleighs or pedal cars. She was a member of Chetek Lutheran Church, Connection for Women, Red Hat, Ladies Aid, Barron County Historical Society and the Rice Lake Community Center, going to water aerobics three times a week for over 20 years. She was always up for giving rides to people and supporting those in need. We will miss her spirit and integrity.

She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Robert; daughters Anita Husby, of Albuquerque, and Jane Collins (Thomas), of Carbondale, Colo.; grandchildren, including Jeffrey Husby, of Orlando, Fla., and Shannon Collins of Tucson, Ariz., as well as great-grandchild Josh Husby of Orlando, Fla.; sister Arlys Deutsch, of Chetek; brothers Denny (Dixie) Knutson, of Bloomer, Wis., and Eugene (Eunice) Knutson, of Ridgeland; sisters-in-law Beverly Anderson and Doreen Knutson; and many nieces and nephews and lots of great friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother Curt Knutson; sister-in-law and brother-in-law June and Bernard Rockman; and brothers-in-law Jim Anderson and Kenneth Deutsch.

Louise had chosen to be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held at Chetek Lutheran Church in the spring. Notices will appear in the papers as to the exact date and time. In lieu of flowers, please donate in her name to Luther Park Bible Camp or Chetek Lutheran Church.
