Robert “Bob” Charles Hartman Jr.

Robert “Bob” Charles Hartman Jr. (“Butch,” “Mole”), 74, of Chetek, Wis., passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019. The Lord called him home after two years of struggling with health issues. Bob was born on June 20, 1945, in Hackensack, N.J., the son of Marge (Gray) and Robert Hartman Sr.

Bob received his industrial arts and teaching degrees at the University of Platteville, where he met his lifetime partner, Lois, and married July 2, 1966. During his high school and college years, he played basketball, football and track, receiving many awards. He was in the Marine ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) while in college.

He taught high school, college and vocational school. He worked as a manager of tool and die departments at Belanka Aircraft in Osceola, Wis.; Melroe in Bismarck, N.D.; Dairy Equipment in Madison, Wis.; and Big Joe Forklift in Wisconsin Dells, Wis. He owned Kingfisher Resort and Nelson Real Estate in Chetek. He just retired from Coldwell Banker in Rice Lake, Wis., this past summer. His favorite occupation was dairy farming in Cushing, Wis., in the ‘70s. He loved fishing, hunting and model railroading.

Bob leaves to celebrate his memory his wife, Lois Hartman, of Chetek; brothers David (Rebecca) Hartman, of Roanoke, Va., and Mark (Laura) Hartman, of Waxhaw, N.C.; sister Jeryl (Garry) Booth, of Dallas, Texas; brother-in-law Ervin Allen, of Browntown, Wis.; special cousins Mary (Bob) Gardner, of Floyd, Va., and Kurt Geisler, of Butler, N.J.; other cousins, nephews and family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marge and Robert.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, at Chetek Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held at the church at 10 a.m. until the time of service. Please join Lois and family for lunch and continued fellowship following the service, which will be held in the church basement.

The family wishes to thank the EMTs and all the different health personnel for their wonderful care.
