Taken by the arms of the angels in Heaven, Stacy Witkowski, 43, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Dove Healthcare in Barron, Wis., due to complications from domestic violence by her husband on June 24, 2012.
Stacy was born June 15, 1972, to Mike and Judy (Thompson) Witkowski at Barron.
She had fought a long tough road from being in a coma for seven months at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire with many brain surgeries. She was a true fighter, yet mostly a hero to many for her fight for life. She was loved by many and had touched a lot of hearts of others in her short life here on Earth. Though she was unwillingly taken from us so soon, she will now be our angel in promoting domestic violence awareness to help others from being victims like she was.
She is survived by her loving father, Mike Witkowski; three daughters, Kaisa (Josh) Asunto, Kaylen Witkowski and Kylee Heisz; one son, Kristopher Heisz; one granddaughter, Remi Asunto; two sisters, Shelly and Mandi Witkowski; one niece, Amber Polichnia; one nephew, Braxton Bisset; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Stacy was preceded in death by her mother, Judy Witkowski; one grandson, Gunnar Asunto; maternal grandparents, Marvin and Flossie Thompson; and paternal grandparents, Pet and Gladys Witkowski.
A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 15, at Wayside Cemetery in Barron. Visitation will be held from 5–8 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Cameron.
Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron and Dallas.
The family of Stacy Witkowski would love to send our heartfelt thanks to all of the health care workers from Mayo Clinic Health Systems including Eau Claire, Osseo, Bloomer, Barron and all of the wonderful personnel at Dove Healthcare in Barron. The love, care and compassion you have given to Stacy and her family was above and beyond. We thank you all with all of our hearts for taking Stacy into your hearts and being a part of her family. Always in our heart and never forgotten, we thank you.
