Chetek residents and area visitors are encouraged to support local organization Walleyes for Chetek and attend their annual Labor Day weekend raffle drawing and party Sunday, Sept. 1.

The event will once again take place at Gilligans beginning at 2 p.m. and will feature a variety of raffle prizes, including gun raffles, paddle raffles, various door prizes, silent auction items, a kayak giveaway, Green Bay Packers tickets, music and more. Two special Owen Knutson Memorial fishing rods, along with a Yeti cooler, a Traeger pellet grill and several other items, will also be raffled off.

Now in the 17th year of the organization’s existence, Walleyes for Chetek relies on funding from the event to purchase large fingerling walleyes that are stocked into the Chetek Chain of Lakes annually.

Be sure to purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win this year’s grand prize of $2,000. Prizes will be awarded through 15th place and will also include a $1,000 Walmart gift card; one pizza a month for a year from Chetek Lanes Event Center & Pizzeria; one meal per month for a year from Gilligans; $250 in Chamber Bucks, sponsored by Sather Family Dental; one pizza a month for a year from Pokegama Lakeside Tavern & Grill; a $200 gift card to Caddy Shack; one fish dinner per month for a year from Red’s; a one-day, one-night cabin and pontoon rental on Long Lake from Big Catch Fishing Expeditions; one quarter chicken dinner per month for a year from Phill’s; a full-day pontoon rental from Lake Country Marina; a $100 Rod & Gun Sport Shop gift card; $100 toward a mount from Cro-Bar Taxidermy; a half-day guided fishing trip from Up-Der North Guide Service; and $50.
