The 35th annual Chetek Fish-O-Rama Contest officially concluded on Friday, Oct. 1. The contest began on the fishing opener—May 1.

This year, there were 370 (249 bluegills, 121 crappies) panfish tagged, including two $1,000 fish, and a total of 50 were caught. The following tagged prize panfish were caught in this year’s Fish-O-Rama contest: $25—36 fish, $50—five fish, $100—four fish, $500—four fish, $1,000—one.   

Over the past 35 years, more than 3,246 tagged fish have been caught in the Fish-O-Rama contest, with winners collecting $117,875.

In order to qualify for the prize money, anglers must own a Fish-O-Rama button, which can be purchased at nearly any business, resort or restaurant in the Chetek community annually.
