A large crowd was on hand on to watch the Chetek Hydroflites Water Ski Show Team perform its first themed show of 2022 on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 19. This year’s ski shows feature a Hydro-High Homecoming theme where the Hydroflites attempt to win “The Spirit Ski.” The local ski team will provide free family fun and entertainment all summer long during Sunday ski shows — pre-shows begin at 5 p.m. and the main shows at 6 p.m. each week. It should be noted that the Hydroflites will perform this Sunday, June 26, and then will showcase three shows during Chetek’s Liberty Fest weekend — Friday, July 1, Sunday, July 3, and Monday, July 4. Attendees are encouraged to come early with an appetite, as food and beverages are available in the concession stand. Bleachers are provided, but those attending are welcome to bring lawnchairs and/or blankets for additional seating. The site is located one mile east of downtown Chetek on Lakeview Drive, adjacent to the city boat landing. Pictured at left, the jumping duo of Hayden Hince and Treyton Bader salute the crowd midair during a successful jump. Pictured at right, Sam Peters flips and twists upside down before he stuck the landing on a gainer off the jump.
